The Global Biodiversity Score team was invited by UNEP-WCMC to join the Gaining consensus on spatial and temporal biodiversity metrics for informed decision-making workshop in Cambridge, UK, on 20-24 May 2019.

Joshua Berger and Antoine Vallier were thrilled to join this expert meeting with about 60 specialists from multiple continents. The objectives were to map data and initiatives on state, pressure and
response, and policy target measure at the global and national level. The meeting included discussion on multidimensional biodiversity index (such as the MeanSpeciesAbundance or MSA) and science based targets. It aims to inform the CBD negotiations, including through an information document to the CBD parties. CDC Biodiversité shared its knowledge about pressure datasets, the Aligning Biodiversity Measures for Business project and contributed to the discussion about science based targets and how can the MSA cover the “ecological integrity” part of such targets for biodiversity.
